During half-term, our regular Wednesday conservation task at Martin Down is open to family groups for a morning or afternoon session.

Book your session on Eventbrite by clicking on the session you would like to book.

Led by our Ranger, Roland Hughes, it will be a fun activity working alongside the volunteer team to help clear an area of scrub.

As part of our Chase & Chalke Greater Grazing project, we’re working to clear areas of Martin Down. A National Nature Reserve, Martin Down is an extensive area of chalk grassland and scrub, nationally important for it rich archaeology and wealth of downland wildlife. Currently, grazed by sheep, the habitat and overall biodiversity would be improved by adding cattle to the mix. Volunteer tasks are helping prepare the area to introduce cattle.

All tools will be provided but please wear appropriate clothing. All children must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

Book your place via Eventbrite or for more information, contact our Ranger, Roland Hughes on 01725 517417 or email rolandhughes@cranbornechase.org.uk
