Discover how the use of drones can help you to better understand and manage the environment in Cranborne Chase National Landscape.
This is a FREE event organised by the Defra Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme in Cranborne Chase, in association with North Wessex Downs National Landscape and New Forest National Park.
Arrival with refreshments from 10:00am, programme to begin at 10:30am prompt.
Programme to include:
- Glenn Moores from Digital Fauna will give a presentation on the current legislation surrounding drone flying and the possibilities for conservation that drones can offer. This will cover, amongst other subjects, surveying for ground nesting birds, mammals, landscape, agriculture and ground truthing Lidar images.
- The Great Bustard group will provide a talk to demonstrate how drones have helped with the conservation of this species.
- Questions, answers and sharing of experiences to help everyone to appreciate the potential.
- Demonstration of drone flying on adjacent land.
Lunch will be provided
