Discover the longest Neolithic Monument in the UK in a tour led by farmer and archaeologist Martin Green.

The Dorset Cursus is the longest Neolithic Monument in the UK, this is a unique opportunity to see how it lies across the rolling landscapes of Cranborne Chase National Landscape, as part of the Dorset Festival of Archaeology.

Join farmer and renowned archaeologist Martin Green for a walking tour of his archaeology sites on Down Farm. We’ll walk among barrows of the Bronze Age and Iron Age and see an excavated section of the Cursus. Martin will tell us of the wildlife to be found on his farm, and how he farms to its best advantage.

There will be a tour of the collection of artefacts displayed in the museum, which will be open specially for this occasion.

Allow around two and a half hours for the tour. Exact arrival location will be confirmed at point of booking.

Dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear as you will be walking on uneven farmland. There are toilets on site. Tour suitable for ages 9+.
