FiPL Granted Three Year Extension

12th January 2026

We’re pleased to share the Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme has been extended for a further 3 years, with £30 million confirmed nationally for the next financial year.

Making the announcement at the Oxford Farming Conference, Emma Reynolds MP, Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, highlighted the achievements of FiPL over the past four years. The programme has supported more than 11,000 farmers across 44 protected landscapes, funding over 5,500 projects and establishing around 100 farm cluster groups.

Within Cranborne Chase, FiPL funding has supported a diverse range of projects from planting trees and hedgerows, to purchasing a Bailey trailer to improve access to the countryside, to supporting the Great Bustard Group in its mission to conserve this vulnerable bird in the wild. The programme has very limited funding available this year, but we urge you to enquire for the next financial year.
